We truly enjoy what we do, making buying a tree a hassle-free, heart-warming, personal, and fun experience (especially for children). This approach has been key to our success over the years.

Founder and Director, Ollie’s Christmas Trees
How it started, a little family business
Ollie started Green Christmas trees with the help of his dad, Nigel. Being 19 at the time, Nigel’s support and experience was greatly appreciated. Useful too was the fact that Nigel was the pub landlord of the Tweseldown Pub at the time, it was from this pub that Ollie started selling trees from.... and still does 16 years later! But now with a few more people to help (thankfully), along with 2 additional sites in the Southeast.

Without a doubt one of the keys to the success of Ollie’s Christmas Trees over the last decade are the fantastic friendly and professional staff. Many of the team have come back for over a decade, many of whom are good friends of Ollie’s.

Ollie - Founder and Director
Since he first started selling Christmas Trees in 2011, Ollie has done a variety of jobs/activites throughout the rest of the year. To name a few he’s been an outdoor instructor in North Wales, cycled the length of South America solo, sold holidays for a Latin American specialist in London, and now lives in Bristol working in logistics for TV production.
In summary, over a decade and a half, he’s been all over doing all manner of things. But every year, no matter what else has been going on, at Christmas, Ollie, his team, and his trees, are here.
Oriana - Site Manager
New to the team this year, Oriana is jumping in two-footed by managing the Tweseldown! Having worked a few weekends over the years, she already knows the ropes, and after having worked on multiple ranches in Mexico over the last 2 years, she’s certainly no stranger to hard graft!
Before her move, Oriana was based in Manchester, where she spent eight years building an enviable career in tech before deciding it was time to experience living abroad. Now, using her degree and fluent Spanish, she’s become a maths teacher over there too, completely smashing her integration into a new culture.
Fortunately for us, she wanted to come back to see family and take on this role. As one of the toughest yet most personable/friendly people you’ll ever meet, we’re delighted and very lucky to have her managing the Tweseldown this year.
Sammy - Operations Manager
Sammy is the essential force behind our operations, managing every critical aspect from payroll, payment systems, stock control, and financial administration. Crucially, she is a pivotal part of decision-making, helping drive the business forward year on year.
Her deep experience as an IT & Finance Manager at a GP Practice and a decade of running a successful pub make her the perfect person to ensure the season runs smoothly. She’s a delight to work with. And having known the founder, Ollie, for 20 years, it’s fair to say they work well together.
In her spare time, you’ll often find her walking her delightful yet major pain-in-the-arse German Shepherd, Loki (aptly named).
Elliot - Full Time Team Member
A new member of the team, Elliot has been managing outdoor centres for over a decade, and switching to freelance work meant we caught him at just the right time!
Having spent 20 years working with families and children all over the UK and Europe, we’re thrilled to have him on board, his friendly, practical approach is exactly what Ollie’s Christmas Trees is all about.
In his spare time, Elliot loves heading outdoors with his young family, going on canoeing trips, and sharing his passion for nature with his children.
Jon - Marketing Manager
The person ensuring people hear about us is Jon, the man behind our marketing!
Being passionate about all things Christmas tree makes his content a joy to follow. Before joining us, he spent 13 years as a Primary School teacher—including three as the Head—before switching to marketing when his son was born.
He initially built up his skills by promoting his local football club. He now manages social media and builds websites full time for small to medium sized businesses; we are lucky to be one of them for the past 4 years!
A proud Welshman, Jon loves sport, photography, and family time. It's a pleasure having such a passionate and capable person managing our profile!
Rich - Site Manager
Rich and Ollie first met five years ago working in a logistics team in Bristol. Understaffed and faced with an insurmountable workload, it could have gone either way. Fortunately, they came out the other end great friends, knowing they worked brilliantly together anhd could both put in some serious shifts when needed!
Having run the Tweseldown as manager last year, a recent family move to the US means he can't take on the full site management this season (hence Ori joining the team 😊). But fortunately, for his third year with us, he’s managed to make the dates work to come back and be part of the team in a capacity that works for him.
One of the nicest blokes you’ll ever meet—and a fascinating guy to boot (he’s been on plenty of wild trips in his time)—you’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone better to help you pick out the perfect tree!
Tom - The OG Weekend Warrior
A close friend from Ollie’s school days, Tom was Ollie’s very first ‘member of staff’ 16 years ago! Despite now holding a senior finance position in London, he still comes back every Christmas season to work a full weekend 16 years straight! Without a doubt, there’s an element of being a sucker for punishment as he always takes on the 4am starts and the late-night finishes! But it’s also down to the appeal of selling trees to lovely people in one of the friendliest environments around, with a hefty chunk of physical labour on the side. His ongoing dedication is a true testament to the warm, friendly culture we’ve built over the years.
Weekend Team
Every weekend, our core team is joined by a flurry of familiar faces—our dedicated team of weekenders, many of whom have been helping us for years. Since there are over 20 of them across our sites, we thought a profile for everyone might be a bit much!
But we wanted to give them a well-deserved shout-out, as you’ll see from our many reviews, they couldn't be a better bunch, and we genuinely couldn’t do what we do without them.
